Zambia Women National Team coach Beauty Mwamba says the team will be looking to do better than last year’s fourth place finish at the 2019 Cosafa Women Championship.
Speaking after a morning training session at Miller Grounds, Mwamba who will lead the Copper Queens for the second successive time at the Cosafa tournament said the team was ready for the competition.
Mwamba will be assisted by Bruce Mwape who is the Technical Advisor.
She said that the European based trio of Barbara Banda, Misozi Zulu and Rachael Kundananji had been replaced as they would be unavailable.
“We need to better than we did last year, if we can reach the finals that will be good for us,” she said.
Zambia is in Group B alongside Namibia, Malawi and Mauritius.
The Cosafa Championship will be staged in Nelson Mandela Bay from July 31 -August 11.
