The Zambia Under-23 Men’s Football National Team got down to work in Cairo ahead of the Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Coach Beston Chambeshi took the team through a rigorous training session at Al Nasr Sports Club in Cairo.
The local assemblage of players arrived in Cairo on Sunday evening and hit the ground running this afternoon.
Zambia will open its campaign on Saturday with a tie against South Africa before facing Nigeria three days later.
In the final Group B tie, Zambia will engage Ivory Coast on November 15.
The first batch of foreign based players are expected this evening with Sweden based Edward Chilufya set to be the first while Emmanuel Banda will also join camp in the early hours of Tuesday.
Chilufya comes to camp on the back of winning the league title in Sweden with his club Djurgardens.
Team manager Mwansa Kapyanga said the team had settled at the Novotel Hotel and had gotten down to business.
Top three teams at the Africa Cup of Nations will qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
