LUSAKA Province Minister Hon Bowman Lusambo has asked top government officials in the Province to work hard this year with the view of transforming the province.
The Minister said this, Wednesday morning, when he addressed the senior management staff in the Province including District Commissioners, Council Chairpersons and all the Heads of Government Departments at the Provincial Administration Headquarters.
Hon Lusambo said the provincial administration should pay keen interest, strictly monitor and ensure that all projects above 80 percent are completed this year.
“As I unveil the theme for this year which is, ‘the Year of Action’, I want to appeal to all of you to work hard this year and respect each other. Let us reduce the pressure on the Office of the President by ensuring that we do things correctly,” he said.
“We have the ability to move Lusaka Province to another level. Lusaka Province has a huge population and we should ensure that we continue to develop it. Am open for any engagement with you. Feel free to approach my office and give advice.”
Hon Lusambo also called on civil servants in the province to work hard saying they are the engine of government. He added that if the civil service fails to deliver, it is the central government that will be blamed for their inefficiency.
And Minister Lusambo said 2020 being a year of action, a ‘business as usual culture’ will NOT be tolerated. He further called for discipline if the Provincial Administration was to achieve the desired results.
