23:28 A European clinical trial to assess four possible experimental treatments for the novel coronavirus has been launched in France.
French public health research body Inserm said the study would involve some 3,200 people who have been hospitalized with severe COVID-19 symptoms. The patients are expected to be drawn from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Britain, France, Luxembourg and Spain, Inserm said in a statement.
