IK Charitable Trust has observed the need for more efforts to be made towards promoting quality health care by providing means for the less privileged people in the society to have access to good and quality health care services.
Organization’s secretary Mohammed Shuaib Khanat says good and quality health care services demand commitment and selflessness and love for the wellbeing of humankind.
He said this when he donated medical consumables to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) worth K150, 000.
The medical consumables included syringes, needles, cannulas, gauzes among other supplies.
“As IK , we believe that a nation can only develop effectively and rise to perfection only if, its citizens are healthy and mentally sound. We hold in high esteem, the nurses, doctors, pharmacists, lab technicians, health institutions managers and directors, and other health workers who have dedicated their time and lives to care for the sick in our society,” he said.
“Good health care practices means to give the patients a hope of recovery and quality attention on their health issues and also to care for the patients until they have a decent ending when their time on earth comes to an end. As IK Charitable Trust we continue to uplift the welfare of the less privileged people in the society by supporting them with access to good and quality health care and social welfare needs.”
Mr. Khanat said his organization believes that the help rendered today will help the hospital in the long run and that it will ease the burden and improve the health care delivery system.
Speaking at the same event, UTH Director Clinical Care and Diagnostic Services Dr. Alex Makupe said government remains committed to ensuring that it provides quality health care and become innovative.
Dr. Mukupe said government through the Ministry of Health is doing well in terms of medical supply saying the situation has improved in the country.
He added that supply chain in the country is improving.
