Rapper DMX is reportedly in hospital following an alleged overdose with reports claiming he is in ‘grave condition’.
The star, 50, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is claimed to have had an overdose at around 11pm at his home on Friday night.
TMZ reports that a source close to the rapper claims the overdose triggered a heart attack, with doctors warning he may not make it.
Little is known about his current condition, with TMZ reporting a source claims he has ‘some brain activity’ and is being treated in hospital in White Plains, New York, with another source claiming he is in a ‘vegetative state’.
DMX, who was one of the original stars of Ruff Ryders hip-hop collective and record label, has previously spoken about his drug use, including crack cocaine, and has been to rehab several times.
He is last known to have been in rehab in 2019 following a 12-month sentence for tax evasion.
