President Lungu Committed to a United Zambia – Kampyongo, Mundubile

THE RULING Patriotic Front (PF) Member of the Central Committee in charge of Security Hon. Stephen Kampyongo has said His Excellency, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu remains committed to seeing a united, peaceful and prosperous Zambia.

Hon. Kampyongo who is also Minister of Home Affairs, said President Lungu desires to see all the Ten provinces of Zambia unite to deal with national challenges together as one.

He was speaking in Lusaka yesterday when opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) incumbent Mbabala Member of Parliament announced his defection to the ruling PF.

He said the ruling party believes in team work and collective responsibility in its continued quest to deliver development to the Zambian people who gave the mandate.

“Last week I pronounced President Lungu’s desire of having this great nation running as one in the spirit of One Zambia One Nation without leaving anyone behind. Today, the defection of Hon.

Belemu goes to cement the desires of the Head of State and the party,” Hon. Kamyongo said.

He has also commended PF member of the National Mobilization Committee Hon. Joseph Malanji and immediate past UPND Spokesperson Hon. Charles Kakoma for the tremendous work they did in North-Western Province and the National Mobilisation Committee for assembling quality members for the ruling party.

“Our President has instructed us to embrace other people on board as we seek to continue tackling the national challenges and that is why we are ready to work with them push the pro-poor agenda of the PF,” Hon. Kampyongo added.

And Chairperson of the PF Legal Committee Hon. Brian Mundubile has commended Hon. Belemu and Hon. Charles Kakoma for making bold steps to join the ruling party.

He said such steps can only be taken by true nationalists who values patriotism above self gain in the political arena.

“We were getting worried that some sections of our country’s political space had started dividing the nation on tribal lines but the two defections by Hon. Kakoma and Hon Belemu from UPND strongholds goes to mitigate such challenges bordered on ethnic lines,” Hon. Mundubile said.

He said President Lungu had has always told party members to go out and be fishers of men for the party because he believes in inclusiveness and collective responsibility of leading the nation to prosperity.

“We are very happy that the new members like Hon. Kakoma have already hit the ground running to deliver a PF victory for President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and other PF candidates in the upcoming August 12 elections,” Hon. Mundubile said.
