Biomedical Union of Zambia BMUZ has hailed government for its efforts in delivering quality health care to Zambians.
Union President Daniel Mwimbe said the country has performed well in the health sector especially with the coming of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Mr Mwiimbe was however hopeful that the scheme will accommodate most zambians and ensure that they have access to quality health care services.
He said the country is moving in the right direction with regards to the health sector.
Mr Mwimbe said as the World commemorates World Health Day, there is need to celebrate the efforts and sucesses made in providing quality health care to all Zambians without leaving anyone behind.
In an interview today, he said there is also need for government not to relent on ensuring that every zambian has access to quality heath care services.
“As we commemorate World Heath Day, we should remember that every citizen has a right to a healthier living. Therefore, there is need to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to health provision especially those in rural areas” he said.
“The country has performed well. As a nation, we are heading in the right direction when it comes to the health sector. There is just need for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to ensure that all zambians have access to quality healthcare services, which should be an aim for all in reaching the 2030 agenda.”
This Year’s World Health Day is commemorated under the theme, “Building a fairer, Healthier World”.
