Former Choma district Mayor Jackson Makwamba has urged the people of Choma tk scrutinize all the candidates standing as members of parliament with their marital status before sending them to parliament where they turn to be play boys.
Speaking to the people of Mutandalikke ward during the PF village to village campaign in Choma on Sunday, Mr Makwamba said leadership should not be vested in people who are not running any families.
He said it is well known fact that some politicians in Choma have never shown the people their wives and families.
“Let me tell you this issue, its sounds funny but it’s a serious matter of concern, some people you vote for as members of parliament are not married thus why they turn to disregard women when they go to parliament, please screen all of them and see whether they have families in this constituency,” Said Makwamba.
Makwamba further urged the people of Mutandalikke to vote for the PF candidate Kenneth Moola because he has proven some leadership qualities.
Makwamba said government will ensure that the construction of the district hospital in Choma is quickened.
And speaking during the same exercise, Choma district PF mayoral candidate Collins Chilala said the lack of water in Choma is because of the poor leadership of the UPND councilors.
Chilala said the people have been deprived of development for voting for UPND mayors and councilors.
He said the patriotic front has shown the desire to develop Choma hence the need to give them civic leaders.
The Choma Central constituency is conducting village to Village campaigns meeting electorates.
The team has continued receiving hopes from the people who are tired of poor leadership from the UPND.
