UPND TOLD TO STOP THE VIOLENCE.

…. Local NGO expects the UPND leadership to show leadership by condemning the violence their cadres are involved in.

We wish to categorically condemn the political violence being perpetuated by the UPND in the country.

The level of violence we are experiencing is unprecedented, and that its being instigated by an opposition political party vying for political office is disappointing.

In this moment, we expect the UPND leadership to show leadership by condemning the violence their cadres are involved in.

Silence merely means the violence has been condoned and this should be a wake up call for Zambians as the polls draw closer.

We believe the threat of Covid 19 is a genuine reason for rallies being banned, and for the UPND to continue defiantly holding large meetings shows blatant disregard for human life.

We would also like to urge the police to ensure that the law is adhered by all political parties as they campaign across the country.

Political parties must be encouraged to use alternative means of campaigning that will follow the laid down Covid 19 preventative guidelines.
