Special assistant to the president for projects,monitoring and implementation, Mr Andrew Chellah is impressed with progress made on the construction of Kimasala/Mushitala belly bridge in Solwezi.
Mr Andrew Chellah who is on an inspection tour of various projects in Solwezi,took time to inspect the progress on the bridge which will aim at reducing congestion in the main business district.
Mr Chellah observed that with the growth in population and business activities, the bridge will deconjest Solwezi and facilitate for smooth flow of economic activities.
Mr Chellah further likened the decongest Solwezi bridge project to the Lusaka decongestion project project as it will also provide a safe passage for pedestrians and motorists.
Mr Chellah disclosed that the project is valued at 4.8 Million Kwacha and it is being done in-house by the Road Development Agency (RDA).
“Our engineers have the exposure and experience to undertake such big projects” he assured.
The project is at 70% and is expected to be completed in 6 week’s time as most materials required are on site” Mr Chellah further said.
