It’s been a long time since Angelina Jolie was wearing very personalised jewellery in honour of her then husband Billy Bob Thornton.
These days the mother-of-six is less Hollywood hellraiser, more globe-trotting humanitarian.
This week, however, she chose breezy white tailoring for a family shopping trip in New York.
The actor and filmmaker wore her slouchy summer suit over a simple, silky top, and added a pair of her preferred low heels, Salvatore Ferragamo’s Clare sandals (Jolie’s shoe collection is bursting with fancy flats and kitten heels, from Valentino’s Vlogo slides to Gabriela Hearst’s Garcia mules).
Her Louis Vuitton Capucines MM handbag provided a subtly luxurious finishing touch.
Though Jolie’s summer tailoring had all the hallmarks of the understated yet unmistakably polished style she’s carved out in her forties, it also had shades of the white Dolce & Gabbana suit she wore to the Oscars 20 years ago, bucking the red-carpet conventions that demand princess gowns on Hollywood’s biggest night.
