..as centre board of trustees pledge to contribute to the fight against the pandemic.
OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre Board of Trustees have approved setting up a COVID-19 vaccination Centre at the facility by the Ministry of Health.
The move is with immediate effect and members of the public are advised to use the opportunity to get vaccinated and help government fight the deadly pandemic which has interrupted several national activities.
OYDC Board of Trustees Chairperson Simangolwa Shakalima said the decision to give the Ministry of Health space to use OYDC as a vaccination Centre is part of their corporate social responsibility.
“You are aware that OYDC is located in a densely populated area with people who might not easily have access to these vaccines hence the move to allow the Ministry of Health to set up a Centre here.
This will help decongest the nearby government facilities” he observed.
He further disclosed that OYDC has suspended its sports activities due to the pandemic.
“It’s also in our best interest to ensure COVID is brought to its end.” Mr Shakalima said.
This is according to a statement issued by board of trustees secretary Dr Fredrick Chitangala.
